FAQ

When should I get a 3D/4D Ultrasound?
Although you able to get a 3D ultrasound at anytime of your choice, the best recommended time for images Is between 25 and 33 weeks of pregnancy. This timeframe is ideal because the baby may not have enough fat under the skin, making facial features less defined if coming before 25 weeks.
That’s why 25 to 33 weeks is often the sweet spot—there’s enough fat to define features, but still enough space for movement and positioning.

When can gender be found on ultrasound or with a SneakPeek DNA Kit?
Gender can typically be determined with ultrasound starting at 15 weeks. With the SneakPeek DNA kit, as early as 7 weeks with us in store!
Factors that affect visibility include:
• Baby’s position (if legs are crossed, it may be harder to see)
• Amount of amniotic fluid (more fluid helps with clearer images)
-
Are there any health risks with using ultrasound?
Ultrasound is a safe and essential tool in prenatal care, as it uses sound waves rather than radiation. Extensive research has shown no known risks when performed by trained professionals following medical guidelines. It provides critical insights into fetal development and maternal health. The FDA and World Health Organization both recognize ultrasound as a safe imaging tool when performed by trained professionals.

How do rescans work?
The baby may be facing the placenta, uterus wall, or curled up, making it difficult to capture the face. There is a possibility of limited space. With less amniotic fluid and more baby, the image clarity can decrease due to crowding. Hands, feet, or even the umbilical cord might be in front of the face, blocking a good view. This may be cause for a rescan. Depending on the package chosen, that indicates if a charge is necessary for a rescan, or if it may be included to come back to try a second time! Of course, we will never know 100% since the little ones can move the way they are comfortable with.
